Day 1   
Arrive Bucharest - Romania

Transfer to your well-located, four-star, hotel. 
Dinner at a traditional Romanian restaurant.
Overnight in Bucharest.

Day 2   
Bucharest  --  Curtea de Arges  --  Sibiu

After breakfast, departure to Sibiu, via Curtea de Arges.
Stops/ visits:
~ Curtea de Arges/ Monatery Curtea de Arges,
a stunning place of worship and final resting place of Romania's royalties.
In the Middle-Ages, Curtea de Arges was the capital of Romania's southern historical province: Walachia.
Continue to Sibiu, one of the oldest cities in Transylvania founded by Saxon colonists.
Guided walking tour of Old Town Sibiu.
Continue to Sibiel and visit the museum of Icons painted on glass (time permitting).
Dinner & overnight in rural Transylvania, at a "Popa Reghina" guesthouse in Sibiel.

Day 3   
Sibiu  --  Biertan  --  Sighisoara  --  Bistrita
Morning departure to Sighisoara - birthplace of prince Vlad Tepes (the Impaler). 
In mid-1400s Vlad ruled the historic province of Walachia (Southern Romania).
He is the historical figure who inspired the the novel "Dracula"
whose fictional character, Count Dracula, is quite popular on both sides of the Atlantic.
Stops/ visits:
~ Biertan / the fortified Church. 
~ Sighisoara - medieval citadel,  a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Walking tour and lunch at "House of Dracula" restaurant.
~ Targu Mures, walking tour in the city centre. 
This city is known for the original architectural style of its landmarks:
Palace of Culture, the Orthodox Church and Teleki-Bolyai Library.
Continue to Bistritaone of Transylvania's seven walled cities ("Siebenburgen").
Visit Bistrita's Gothic Cathedral (14th century) and the local Gothic-style houses ("sugalete").
Bistrita is the place where Jonathan Harker, Bram Stoker's fictional character,
spent the night before reaching count Dracula's Castle.
Dinner and overnight in Bistrita at Coroana de Aur hotel.
After dinner, optional, night walking tour of Bistrita. 

Day 4   
Bistrita  --  Campulung Moldovenesc  --  Gura Humorului
Travel from Bistrita to Bucovina – the land of the unique "Painted Monasteries".
Stops/ visits:
~ Campulung Moldovenesc / Center for Art in Wood
(lunch in Campulung Moldovenesc) 
~ Monastery Moldovita – a fine example of Byzantine art
~ Vatra Moldovitei  / local artisan's Lucia Condrea workshop (painted eggs).
Vatra Moldovitei is also known for its distinctive traditional architecture
and the old narrow-gauge, steam, train "Hutulca".
~ Voronet / Voronet Monastery, also called "the Sistine Chapel of the East"
known world-wide for the unique nuance of blue of its frescoes.
Dinner and overnight in Gura Humorului. 

Day 5   
Gura Humorului  --  Bicaz Gorges  --  Lacul Rosu  --  Brasov
Travel from Bucovina to Transylvania; discover more of rural Romania.
Stops/ visits: 
~ Village Tarpesti / workshop of local artisan Neculai Popa.
A few rooms of the artisan's residence are home to a colourful collection
of leather and fur masks and folk costumes. 
~ Monastery Agapia 
~ Lake Bicaz / Bicaz Gorges. 
~ Lacu Rosu (Red Lake) - lunch.
Overnight at Coroana Brasovului hotel in Brasov. 

Day 6   
Brasov  --  Prejmer  --  Bran  --  Brasov
Halp-day trip to pPrejmenr and Bran
Stops / visits:
~ Prejmer / the 13th Century, Evangelical, fortified, church, a UNESCO World Heritage site. 
~ Bran / Bran ("Dracula") Castle).
In 1922, Queen Maria of Romania made the castle her Royal residence.
Lunch in Bran
Return to Brasov, southern Transylvania's largest city
and home to the largest Gothic structure in Eastern Europe - the Black Church.
Brasov Old Town walking tour - time at leisure. 
Overnight in Brasov. 

Day 7
Brasov  --  Sinaia  --  Bucharest
Travel from Brasov to Bucharest, crossing the southern Carpathian Mountains.
Stops / visits:
~ Sinaia / Peles Castle, one of the most spectacular in Europe,
(from 1880s to 1947 the summer residence of Romania's Royal family).
Continue to Bucharest.
After lunch in Bucharest,
panoramic tour of Romania's capital city Bucharest,
home to over two-million inhabitants and a unique mix of architectural styles.
Visit the Palace of Parliament - the largest administrative building in Europe
and the second largest structure in the world.
Overnight in Bucharest.
Farewell dinner at "Caru cu Bere" (the Beer Wagon),
one of the most popular restaurants in town.

Day 8
After breakfast,
transfer to Bucharest airport

continue your visit to Romania to also discover the Danube Delta
(optional four-days / three-nights Danube Delta tour)

Bucharest -- Tulcea -- Crisan/ Sulina (Danube Delta)  
After breakfast, meet your guide and depart for the Danube Delta.
Travel from Bucharest to Tulcea.
Stop/ Visit: Danube Delta Museum in Tulcea 
Continue, by boat, to Crisan.
Danube Delta presentation.
Two-hour excursion - by small boat – in the Danube Delta. 
Dinner and overnight at a three-star hotel Crisan / Danube Delta.

Day 9
Crisan -- Letea -- Crisan
Danube Delta sightseeing cruise.
Discover Danube Delta's lakes, channels, marshes and wildlife,
visit Europe's northernmost sub-tropical forest: Letea
Enjoy a traditional Fishermen's lunch in Crisan. 
Wildlife watching in the Danube Delta. 
Dinner and overnight in a three-star hotel in Crisan.

Day 10
Crisan -- Sulina -- Crisan
After breakfast (8:30),
depart to Sulina to visit Romania's easternmost town / small sea port,
its museum and the picturesque Sulina beach.
In the afternoon, explore the lakes surrounding Sulina.
Traditional farewell dinner featuring local fresh fish dishes.
Dinner and overnight in a three-star hotel in Crisan.

Day 11
Crisan/ Danube Delta -- Bucharest
Early departure to Bucharest (6:30 am).
Estimated arrival time in Bucharest: 1 pm.
