Day 1
Bucharest – Sinaia / Peles Castle – Bran / Bran Castle
Meet your guide at your Bucharest hotel and head north to Transylvania.
Stops/ visits:
~ Sinaia / Peles castle, German Neo-Renaissance,
former summer residence of Romania's royal family,
~ Bran / Bran (Dracula's) Castle.
In 1922, Queen Maria of Romania made the castle her Royal residence.
Overnight in Bran.
Day 1 in brief:
Distance traveled:  200 km (125 miles)
Travel time:  3 hours and 15 minutes (normal traffic, without stops)
Sights/ Activities: Carpathian Mts. vistas, historical buildings,
Peles castle (German Neo-Renaissance), Bran (Dracula's) castle.
Day 2
Bran – Piatra Craiului Mts. - Brasov – Zărnești - Bran
After breakfast,
discover Transylvania's wilderness and small mountain villages.
Hiking in Piatra Craiului Mountains.
Taste local cheeses and fruit preserves and learn how they are produced.
Continue to Brasov, one of the most beautiful cities in Romania.
Visit the Black Church, the largest Gothic structure in Eastern Europe,
Continue to Zărnești for bear/ wildlife watching.
Return to Bran.  Overnight in Bran.
Day 2 in brief:
Distance traveled: 100 km (65 miles)
Travel time:  2 hours and 50 minutes (normal traffic, without stops)
Sights/ Activities: rural Transylvania, medieval architecture, historical buildings, bear watching, traditional products tasting, hiking in Piatra Craiului Mountains.

Day 3
Bran – Şinca Monastery – Lake Balea – Bucharest
After breakfast,
travel from Bran to Bucharest, via the scenic Transfagarasan Road,
that connects Transylvania (Central Romania) with Walachia (southern Romania).
Stops/ visits:
~ Şinca Veche / Şinca Rupestral Monastery, also named "Temple of Wishes"  
(an ancient cave church – built more than 6000 ago).
~ Balea Lake, a natural glacier lake at 6,800 ft altitude,
the highest point of the TransFagarasan road.
Picnic near the lake or taste some local soup.
Day 3 in brief:
Distance traveled: 390 km (245 miles)
Travel time:  6 hours and 50 minutes (normal traffic, without stops)
Sights/ Activities: Şinca Veche Rupestral Monastery, Lake Balea, Carpathian Mts. vistas.

This tour will depart on set (not flexible) “guaranteed departure” dates
and cost stays the same no matter the number of travelers/ participants
(max 6 participants).
Hotel accommodations:
Bran: Conacul Bratescu (four-star), or similar
Before you book, please be informed that Balea Lake can be easily reached in summer by car, but in the cold season is only reachable by cable-car from Balea Waterfall.
From July until end of October, your guide will be driving you on the Transfagarasan road.
