Day 1 
Arrival in Romania

Welcome to Romania !
Meet your guide/ private driver at Bucharest Airport. 
Transfer to your hotel.  If time allows, (walking) tour of Bucharest city center.
Bucharest highlights/ landmarks:  the Romanian Athenaeum one of Europe’s most beautiful classical music venues, former Royal Palace, Library of Bucharest University,
National Bank of Romania, the Savings Bank – Romania’s finest example of Eclecticism.

Day 1 in brief:

Day 2
Bucharest --- Curtea de Arges --- Sibiu
After breakfast, departure to Sibiu – one of the seven walled-towns in Transylvania. 
Stops/ visits:
~ Curtea de Arges /  Monastery Curtea de Arges,
one of Romania’s most impressive Byzantine-style structures (Christian church w Islamic motifs).
~ Calimanesti – Arutela, Roman Castrum (Castra)
Sightseeing in Sibiu.
Overnight in Sibiu

Day 3  
Sibiu

Day-trip to Alba Iulia and Turda salt mine
After breakfast, departure from Sibiu to Alba Iulia
Walking tour of Alba Iulia and its Vauban-style fortifications (star-shaped).
Continue to Turda to visit Turda salt mine, arguably the most spectacular in Europe.
Visit Turda salt mine.
Return to Sibiu, overnight in Sibiu.

Day 4
Sibiu

departure to Sighisoara – the best preserved medieval town in Europe and a World Heritage Site
(„An outstanding testimony to the culture of the Transylvania Saxons” – attribution: UNESCO).

~ Biertan / impressive Fortified Church
Meidas and Biertan are two of the oldest Saxon settlements in Transylvania
that are offering fine examples of medieval architecture.

Veliko Tarnovo
